Why am I listening to that awful, overplayed-to-death song, you ask?

(dramatic pause)

To get in the mood for :iconmelonlogic:'s Seduction themed fractal art contest of course!  :excited:

The theme is great, the judges are great, the prizes are great, the host/sponsor is great, the entries are going to be great, even the rules are great.  Get it? The contest is great.  You'll find more information about the contest on ~MelonLogic's journal.  Stop reading my journal and go there instead!

Marvin Gaye...I like the one, What's Going On!
But the guy has a tragic ending, he was shot by his father! Dead! :(

That's not a bad song, it's not as overplayed.
I watched a show on TV once about that, I think maybe Biography? That is tragic, I don't know what could lead someone to kill a family member. :(

Sometimes the price of fame and fortune in exchange of really normal life, you know. :(
But I guess even in those tragic short life. One thing is for sure Marvin Gaye will be
remembered for his songs, thus will live forever! :)

BTW. the fractal contest is great...really awesome judges.
Also there's lots of new peeps in fractal community.
I haven't browsed around. But I know for sure there's
always new comers out there. So it's good for All.

Oi!! Old Fart here ... and just what's wrong with listening to Marvin Gaye? ;)

Oh yeah, I just looked at your page to see how old you are, I'm not rude enough to ask you of course. :p

I noticed you like Terry Pratchett, his books always make me laugh too, great stuff. :)

I'm a VERY old fart ;)

I was 15 when Gaye's classic Motown single "I heard it through the grapevine" was released. I'll let you do the research and the maths

 I thought you were much younger, not that you seem immature or anything, I usually have a hard time guessing people's ages online unless they're really young though. :)

 I completely agree with you, it can be so difficult. But I think there's a general assumption made online that people are "round about our own age" (or at least "not nearly dead" ;)) if we find it easy to communicate with them and there are no obvious give-aways to their generation in their conversation. Except for us old farts, of course, who know that everyone else is so much younger
