Fractal Articles

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 24, 2006, 8:44 PM
:iconfractalmonster:, Ingvar Kullberg has written an extremely informative series of over 30 fractal articles, "The Chaotic Series of Fractal Articles" available here:  [link] only about half way through them and already I am learning from them.  The articles approach escape time fractals from the perspective of a researcher but in a way that is more accessible to the average person than picking up a big textbook.   Even if you are strictly an artist it pays to know some of the math and science behind the images.  Check them out, he also has some nice, interesting pure fractal work in his gallery here on dA.  Not too many people are doing that kind of work these days.

A couple of examples:

On the subject of articles, I am putting some short tutorials together for Ultra Fractal.  I am currently working on one that deals with using adjustment layers for soft vignetting and lighting effects.  I am looking for suggestions because I don't know what kind of things people are interested in learning.  So if anyone has any questions or anything they think would make a good tutorial either post it here or note me.

Anyone want some hot chocolate?

I have decided that pink is more sexy than orange.

Thanks to `newklear for his CSS tutorial: [link]

The best announcement and appreciation I ever seen:) When I did this job, I my idea was that if the articles would inspire at least a few persons, it was worth the effort. Thank you trystianity:):)

Dude...posting a journal at this time, when we're waiting on results, is not cute....

Just kidding, looks cool, I've have to check it out. I really don't know about the tutorials. I think I've figured out what I wanted to do already, for now anyway. I'll let you know if I can think of anything though...

It's still too hot here for hot chocolate...:(

I can just imagine the moment of happy suspense, and then... profound disappointment when you realized it was just me rambling on about crap again. :lmao:

I'll trade you, it's close to freezing here. And has been raining off and on for a couple of weeks. Ouch. :dead:

No thanks, I'm not prepared for rain yet. My windshield wipers got so dry during the summer that the wiper part has detached so it flaps in the sun when I'm driving. Not a cute look and right now I can't afford to buy new ones. So it's ok, keep your rain and hot chocolate, I'm afraid I'll have to pass :giggle:

BTW, I got that Firefox plugin so I knew it was a comment. Any more journals though....it's on!

I had to check your profile, it says you live in CA, that explains it. For this area I'm just lucky it isn't snow. :O_o: Hot chocolate is tasty though.

I have that firefox plugin too. It's awesome.
