I have always been fascinated by instances of fractal geometry in nature. As a child I would stare at the intricate patterns made by frost on cold windows, cascading spirals in smoke, fern leaves. Spirals, repitition and self similarity can be found everywhere.

~177aharba requested that I upload this at 1680x1050 resolution. I have a 22" LCD myself now so I know how hard it is to find wallpapers for a larger-than-average monitor. ;)

You're right it does look like elodea! :dance: Actually I keep aquariums and aquatic plants, elodea is supposed to be impossible to kill but I've never been able to keep it alive. I have kept some rare and difficult plants but always kill that stuff for some reason. :lonely:

For this I used Ultra Fractal 4 [link] . Fractals are made with equations but you don't really need to touch any equations yourself or have any knowledge of the maths at all to make decent fractal art. Knowing at least some math helps a lot. I have a maths background and am learning programming now and I think it gives me a huge advantage over people who don't learn it. :)
